In an age when every minute counts, take some time to visit this charming Art Déco house in which the Clockarium pays tribute to earthenware mantel clocks of our (great-)grandparents.
The Cauchie House can be considered as one of the most beautiful works of Art Nouveau in Brussels. The basement, cellar, and artist workshop have been redesigned into a vast gallery to exhibit Paul and Lina Cauchie’s paintings collected by the current owners over time. It is thanks to their vigilance and the love for the Cauchie House, that the house has been revived.
Built in 1929, the house of banker and art patron David van Buuren is typical of the Amsterdam School. The interior is an Art Déco masterpiece with rare furniture, carpets and stained glass designed by Belgian, French and Dutch decorators. It also houses a collection of paintings and sculptures.
